Background

  • Since 2004, several states have proposed to enact and enacted voucher programs and voucher type programs, specifically for students with disabilities. Across the nation, there are different types of programs, including: vouchers, tuition tax credits, education savings accounts and or scholarships.

What is a Voucher?

  • Merriam-Webster's dictionary defines a voucher as "a coupon issued by government to a parent or guardian to be used to fund a child's education in either a public or a private school."
