Nominations for the 2016 CEC Awards are now closed.
The CEC Professional and Student Awards give us a unique opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of our colleagues and students. Through these awards, we recognize the special educators who have advanced the field and the quality of special education service, CEC members whose contributions have moved the Council forward in significant ways and outstanding student members and chapter advisors who make outstanding contributions to CEC and to children with exceptionalities.

The CEC J.E. Wallace Wallin Lifetime Achievement Award
This award recognizes an individual who has made continued and sustained contributions to the education of children and youth with exceptionalities.
The Clarissa Hug Teacher of the Year Award
This award honors a CEC member who currently provides direct services to students with exceptionalities and whose work exemplifies the best in special education teaching.
The CEC Special Education Research Award
This award recognizes an individual or research team whose research has made significant contributions to the education of children and youth with exceptionalities.
The Frederick J. Weintraub Outstanding CEC Leadership Award
This award honors a CEC member who has made significant contributions to the Council’s programs and activities at the local, state/provincial and national/international level over an extended period of time.
The CEC Business Award
This award recognizes a business that has promoted and provided for the enhancement, awareness, and employment of individuals with exceptionalities in order to promote and support their full participation within the community. The CEC Honors Committee selects one organization each year to receive this award. Nominations are not accepted for this award.

The Susan Phillips Gorin Award
This award honors a regular CEC member who has demonstrated exemplary personal and professional qualities while making outstanding contributions to promote student activities and to children and youth with exceptionalities.
The Outstanding CEC Student Member of the Year (Graduate & Undergraduate) Awards
These awards honor a student CEC member for his or her dedication and contribution to children and youth with exceptionalities and to student activities. The awards recognize both an undergraduate and graduate student CEC member.
Yes I Can Awards
The Yes I Can awards honor children and youth with exceptionalities who shine. CEC has recognized the accomplishments of thousands of students since the program started in 1982.
