CEC Student Awards

The CEC Student Awards recognize CEC's outstanding college and university student members—undergraduate and graduate students—and chapter advisers who make outstanding contributions to CEC and to children and youth with exceptionalities.

Nominations for the Student Awards are due July 15, 2019. See below for more information on our awards and nomination forms.

Please address any inquiries about the CEC Student Awards to students@cec.sped.org. Please note: High school students and other non-members are not eligible for these awards.

Student award recipients receive a plaque at an awards ceremony during the CEC Annual Convention & Expo. All student award recipients will be recognized on the CEC website. Recipients of these awards are not required to attend the convention to receive their award.

No student will be awarded more than one CEC award each year. Student members on CEC’s Student & Early Career Committee are not eligible for these awards.

Student Awards & Nominations

The Outstanding CEC Student Member of the Year (Graduate & Undergraduate) Awards
These awards honor a student CEC member for his or her dedication and contribution to children and youth with exceptionalities and to student activities. The awards recognize both an undergraduate and graduate student CEC member.

The Susan Phillips Gorin Award
This award honors a college or university faculty member (including CEC chapter advisers) who has demonstrated exemplary personal and professional qualities while making outstanding contributions to promote student activities and to children and youth with exceptionalities.  

CEC's 2020 Student Award nominations are due July 15, 2019.
