Requirements for Offering CEC CEUs at Outside Events

The following must be sent to CEC Headquarters at least one month prior to the scheduled event date:

1. All logistical information regarding the event, including date, time, and location.

2. Printed schedule of the entire program, including but not limited to:

a. All breaks (including 10-minute breaks and meals).

i. Time allotted for breaks can not be included in the calculation of CEUs.
ii. Only time spent supporting the learning outcomes contributes to CEUs.

b. Duration of all sessions and subsessions.

Please note: In order to be eligible to receive CEUs, a participant must attend at least 90% of the scheduled learning event.

3. Brief descriptions and learning outcomes.

a. These should be provided on the basis that CEUs will be awarded:

i. One set of CEUs for the entire program – brief description and learning outcomes for entire program required.
ii. One set of CEUs for each session within the entire program – brief description and learning outcomes for each session required.

b. Descriptions (for the entire event or each session) should include:

i. The name and a brief description of the presenter(s).
ii. An explanation of the environment/room set-up in relation to the type of learning that is to occur (e.g., classroom style, “U” shape, or round tables).

c. Include example of the method used to capture the required participant information, including name, address, daytime phone number, fax number (if applicable), and e-mail.

d. Please also include examples of the evaluations that all participants will complete (for the entire event or each session). Evaluations should state participants' completion of the event in question and entitlement to CEUs and provide space for participants to sign and date the document.

The following must be sent to CEC Headquarters within 30 days of the completed event:

1. Completed evaluation forms for all participants seeking CEUs.

2. Contact information for all participants seeking CEUs.

3. CEU fees ($20 per person) for all participants seeking CEUs.
