Adapting Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science Materials for the

This course presents effective, easy-to-implement
strategies for adapting curricular materials to meet the needs of
diverse learners in inclusive secondary school classrooms. You will
learn:
- the importance of curricular design in providing
access to general education content;
- six principles of effective curricular
design;
- nine steps involved in making adaptations for
existing materials and handling common curriculum design
problems;
- how to mediate, reorganize, and rewrite existing
materials; and
- methods for identifying and selecting alternate
materials.
The course includes quizzes that are both quick and
fun to do, so that you can check your understanding of key concepts.
This course is based upon CEC's best-selling mini-library, "Adapting
Curricular Materials."
