Can I receive credit for taking the courses?
You can earn continuing education units (CEUs) for completing each course. Each hour of online instruction is the equivalent of .1 CEU (.1 CEU = one clock hour or one contact hour). You must complete this entire course to receive credit. Partial credit is not available.

How many CEUs can I earn for completing a course?
Please check the course descriptions for details about the number of CEUs offered for each course.

What are continuing education units (CEUs)?
CEUs issued from CEC are an acknowledgment that the individual participated in a professional development activity recognized and co-sponsored by CEC. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are used by various disciplines to recognize in-service training or continuing education. In education, local education agencies (LEAs), state education agencies (SEAs), and some professional educational associations require employees/members to provide evidence of professional development activities. The CEU is concrete recognition that an individual has undertaken professional growth activities. CEUs are often counted for re-certification and pay scale purposes. CEUs are not university credits, although some higher education institutions offer CEUs as a separate credit opportunity under various formats.

Will my employer or state licensing authority accept CEUs?
Whether or not CEUs will be valuable to you depends on the requirements of your employer and/or state licensing authority. CEC provides the participant with a certificate verifying the amount of credit earned, but it is up to the participant to submit their CEUs to their employer and/or state licensing authority for their acceptance or recognition. You should call your state department of education or local education agency for information about their CEU policies.
CEC is recognized and approved as an authorized CEU provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). IACET-approved CEUs are accepted by many employers and professional organizations. Please verify with your organization whether they will accept IACET-approved CEUs.

How do I obtain CEUs?
Instructions for obtaining CEUs are included at the end of each course.
