About Nashville

CEC is delighted to head to Music City for its 2010 Convention & Expo. This will be our first time in Nashville, a city known as the hub of country, bluegrass, jazz, and other types of music. The capital of Tennessee also supports a vibrant university community and is home to many historical and cultural attractions. Please click here for more information about “Music City.”

Educational sessions, meetings, award ceremonies, the exhibit hall, lodging, and dining -- you’ll find all the highlights of the CEC 2010 Convention & Expo under one roof at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Convention Center. This landmark hotel truly embodies the spirit of “southern hospitality,” making it the perfect setting for networking, learning, and relaxing at the end of the day.

About CEC’s Nashville Brand

The look and feel of this year’s convention and expo was inspired by the oldest working poster print shop in America, the Hatch Show Print. Many of the elements in this year’s brand (the guitar, the font, the stars) may remind you of posters you’ve seen over the years -- from Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Nike, Taylor Guitars, Jack Daniel's, Pizza Hut, Oxford University Press, and even your hometown band.

Hatch Show Print began in 1875 under the name of CR and HH Hatch. The brothers grew up learning the skill of the letterpress printmaking from their father and their creativity, attention to tradition and craftmaking, and unique style have helped them stay popular and relevant through today. As the Country Music Hall of Fame says, from the very start, “Here was the simplicity, the effortless balance between type size and style, vertical and horizontal layout. Here too was the distinct whiff of American history, Southern culture and entertainment.”

We felt it fitting to honor Hatch Show Print as we head to Nashville. Read more about them at the Country Music Hall of Fame Web site.
