Purpose

A growing body of research clearly indicates the need to respond effectively to the emotional, behavioral and social needs of youth and the important role schools have in meeting these needs. The purpose of this Institute is to provide participants with an understanding of their role in helping students and families promote positive behavioral and mental health, build social and emotional competencies, and address mental, emotional and behavioral needs of all youth and those with disabilities.

Participant Outcomes

Participants in this Institute will improve their knowledge of how educators can build their capacity to promote positive behavioral and mental health development in schools and educational programs; and expand knowledge of specific promising practices for addressing the behavioral and mental health needs of youth.
