PRECONVENTION
WORKSHOPS
Get your convention week off to a great start! Attend a preconvention
workshop and explore some of special education’s most important
topics in depth. Developed and lead by recognized experts in the field,
these full- or half-day workshops will give you evidence-based
instructional strategies and programs to bring back to your school
or classroom! (And, by attending a preconvention workshop, you are
eligible to earn CEUs!)
GENERAL
SESSION
Wednesday, April 2, 5:00-6:30 p.m.
Henry Winkler, CEC’s 2008 Keynote Speaker!
Many of you may remember him as “The Fonz” from the
“Happy Days” television show; however, Henry is an
accomplished author who has written a series of children’s novels
with his co-author, Lin Oliver. The series, entitled “Hank Zipzer:
The World’s Most Amazing Under-Achiever,” was inspired by
the personal challenges Winkler experienced due to his learning
challenges. Henry is also a committed advocate for children as evidenced
by his work with organizations such as Epilepsy Foundation of America,
Toys for Tots, Special Olympics, and the National Committee for Arts for
the Disabled.
