Accessibility at the CEC Convention & Expo

All sessions, business meetings, and social events will take place at either the Washington State Convention and Trade Center or the Sheraton Seattle (CEC Headquarters Hotel), which is located directly across the street. All CEC events are ADA accessible. Please let us know your needs.

Transportation

Shuttle service will not be provided at the Convention & Expo. Power scooters and a limited number of power chairs will be available free of charge to registered convention attendees. To reserve yours today, please contact Jane Uffelman at janeu@cec.sped.org. Requests must be received no later than March 7, 2009.

Scooters and power chairs will be available at the convention starting at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Please visit the Accessibility Counter on Level 4 of the Washington State Convention and Trade Center.

Interpreter Services

CEC will provide sign language interpreters at the General Session and Representative Assembly upon request. If you require such services, please indicate by checking the appropriate box on the Registration Form and contact Jane Uffelman at janeu@cec.sped.org. Requests for sign language interpreting services must be made no later than March 7, 2009 in order to ensure availability. (After we receive your request, we will work with you to build your convention schedule by utilizing the free online scheduling tool.)

Alternative Formats

CEC will also provide the official convention program in alternative formats (large print, Braille, or thumb drive) upon request. If you require such materials, please contact Jane Uffelman at janeu@cec.sped.org. Requests must be received by CEC no later than March 7, 2009 to ensure that CEC has enough time to arrange for an adequate supply of adapted materials. The adapted programs will be available for pick-up onsite at the Accessibility Counter.
