Professional Development

CEC is an international community of educators who are the voice and vision of special and gifted education. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals with exceptionalities and their families through professional excellence and advocacy.

The CEC Professional Services Team, who developed the offerings highlighted here, is dedicated to supporting the professional development needs in the field of exceptional education. Our goal is to extend the capabilities of all educators and administrators who are working to improve the educational outcomes for students with exceptionalities.

In this section, you’ll find a variety of professional development offerings to meet everyone’s needs – including those who are time-crunched, cost-conscious or need CEUs in order to meet state obligations.

Web Seminars
Web seminars bring together current information from experts and busy professionals in convenient, interactive 90 minute sessions, and require only a speakerphone, a computer and high-speed internet connection. Administrators can cost-effectively arrange for as many individuals as they would like to participate for one low price. Attendees can earn .15 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for participating in the 1 hour and 45 minute training session.

Audiofiles
Too busy to attend a web seminar? Interested in earning CEUs when you have the time? Audiofiles are a flexible, new way to catch up on all of the great information from CEC's Web Seminars at your convenience.

Regional Workshops
Regional workshops present face-to-face, two-day, interactive learning opportunities at a reasonable rate.

CEUs for Outside Professional Development
CEC can grant Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for professional development once an outside event has been evaluated and approved.
