CEC Nominations Committee Applicants Invited

The deadline has been extended for CEC members wishing to apply for the Classroom Ranks position or Ethnic or Multicultural Group position on the Nominations Committee.

CEC members interested in applying for these vacancies on the Nominations Committee should complete the Nominations Committee Interest Form. The new deadline is Friday, Oct. 31, 2008  New Nominations Committee members will be elected by CEC’s Representative Assembly in November.

The Nominations Committee actively solicits candidates from the total CEC membership in order to prepare a slate of nominees to fill anticipated Board of Directors vacancies for the coming administrative term.  The members of the Nominations Committee have the responsibility to identify potential leaders representing the diversity within the Council. The Committee also oversees leadership development and mentoring opportunities for members as they seek, prepare for, and assume Council leadership roles and responsibilities.

All members of the Nominations Committee serve a two-year term, with the exception of the Immediate Past President, who chairs the committee and serves a one-year term.  One-half of the members rotate off the Committee each year.

A member of the Nominations Committee can serve only one elected term and may not be re-elected at any time.

Members of the Nominations Committee are precluded from being a nominee or candidate for an elected or appointed Board of Directors position during their term of office on the Nominations Committee.
