Assessment

Students with disabilities, and those with gifts and talents, are given a wide variety of assessments, ranging from standardized assessments to individual assessments to determine the students' strengths, abilities, and areas of weakness, as well as mastery of knowledge and skills. To give you a knowledge base of these different assessments and the issues surrounding assessment of students with special needs, CEC has created this resource. It includes information on alternative assessment, assessment of individual students, high stakes assessment, standardized assessments, progress monitoring, research, and current issues concerning assessment as well as CEC policies and resources.
